FIELD: radar ranging.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of radar equipment and can be used in the construction of radar, intended for determining the location of aircraft. Method of aircraft navigation involves comparison of values of planned coordinates of current and reference maps, compiling current map based on measurements of inclined distances, using radio waves emitted in the form of beams, determination of difference of results of multi-beam measurements, determination of aircraft location. Prior to each measurement cycle, deviating the direction of the normal axis of the associated coordinate system from the direction orthogonal to the horizon plane, determining the beam, direction of propagation of which is closest to direction orthogonal to horizon plane, this beam is used in the given measurement cycle as central one at radiation of beams and determination of difference of results of multibeam measurements.
EFFECT: high accuracy of the method of navigating aircraft.
