FIELD: measuring techniques.

SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to the method of adjusting a measuring device for capacitive measurement of the level of medium. At least one probe unit of the measuring device is controlled by an electrical signal, which is in form of an alternating voltage with a given frequency. The essence of the invention lies in that, from the frequency of the control signal, the conductivity range is determined, the limits within which change of level basically does not depend on change in electrical conductivity (σ) of the medium. For the conductivity range at least one standard relationship is created between the given first value of the level and the first capacitance value, related to the first value of the level. The first standard relationship between the first value of the level and the first capacitance value are recorded in memory. The invention also pertains to the respective measuring device.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of measurements.
