FIELD: nuclear technologies.
SUBSTANCE: method of equipment decontamination includes filling of closed space that contains equipment to be decontaminated with chemically active gaseous medium. Closed space is sealed, air is partially pumped away, saturated water vapor and chlorine are added until atmospheric pressure, then maintained for 24 hours. Chlorides formed on contaminated surfaces are flushed away with sprayed water and are sent for recycling. Cleaned surfaces are exposed to dosimetric control of beta- and gamma-radiations.
EFFECT: simplification of technological process.
