FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: method for manufacture of stocks used for drawing of anisotropic single-mode light conductors that maintain polarisation of emission is related to technology of optical fiber making for interferometric detectors of physical quantities. Method includes manufacture of cylindrical pre-stock that consists of core and shell, which is inserted into quartz glass pipe. Two stressing rods are installed into radial clearance between them symmetrically along the whole length, and the remaining part of clearance is filled with glass-forming particles, for instance, quartz grit, vacuumised and melted with residual pressure inside the tube that does not exceed 10-6 atmospheres. Dimensions of such stock make it possible to draw light conductor with length of up to 40 km with diameter of glass fiber of 80 micrometer.
EFFECT: simplification of method for manufacture of stocks with simultaneous reduction of their cost.
