FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of ceramics based on magnesium oxide and can be used in manufacturing insulators of magnetic hydrodynamic (MHD) generators, illuminators of aircraft, as catalyst carriers, crucibles for melting highly-pure ferrous, non-ferrous and rare metals, as well as in technology of magnesite refractories. According to claimed method of manufacturing ceramic products for preparation of moulding mass binding agent is introduced into powder of magnesium oxide, ingredients (5-15 wt % of binding agent and 85-95 wt % of magnesium oxide) are mixed at room temperature to homogenous state, also with mixing, 2-7 wt % of water with respect to binding agent weight are added to mixture and are stood during 5-10 hours. Products are formed from obtained moulding mass and thermally processed at temperature 150-300°C. As binding agent water-free magnesium dihydroorthophosphate Mg(H2PO4)2 is used. Formation of products is carried out by pressing with force 700-1200 kg/cm2.
EFFECT: simplifying stage of moulding mass preparation and reduction of energy consumption due to carrying out product thermal processing process at considerably lower temperatures.
