FIELD: physics; nuclear technology.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to nuclear energy, in particular, to construction of an ampoule of an irradiator device of a nuclear reactor and is aimed at producing gamma-ray sources. The ampoule of an irradiator device of a nuclear reactor comprises a pressure-tight cylindrical case. Tablets of radioactive material are put inside the case. The tablets are unlocked using clamps from material with weak neutron absorption. Each clamp is made in form an elastic ring with a radial cut. The ratio of the radial thickness of the ring to the diameter of the ring ranges from 0.05 to 0.1. The ratio of diametral compression when assembling the ampoule to the diameter of the ring ranges from 0.008 to 0.02.
EFFECT: reduced thermal fall between the tablets of radioactive material and the heat carrier, increasing the permissible temperature of the heat carrier cooling the ampoule and at the possibility of exposing an ampoule with cobalt in reactors with water under pressure.
