FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is attributed to ultrahigh-frequencies radio engineering and can be used for instance in paths of radar-location, television and communication devices. Waveguide variable dielectric phase shifter contains rectangular waveguide section and dielectric element capable to change dimensions. According to the invention dielectric element is made as two or more dielectric rods installed at right angle to wide wall of rectangular waveguide and spaced along rectangular waveguide in increments less than one quarter of wave length in rectangular waveguide. Dielectric rods can be changed via holes in wide walls of rectangular waveguide and removable parts of shirted sections of cutoff waveguides connected via these holes with rectangular waveguide and rigidly fixed on external wide walls of rectangular waveguide. Dielectric rods have central part which is fitted between wide walls of rectangular waveguide and outer symmetrical parts providing their tight attachment in the said shorted sections of cutoff waveguides.
EFFECT: decrease in dimensions and increase in phase shifter throughput.
