FIELD: medicine, traumatology, neurosurgery.
SUBSTANCE: orifices are made in the same directions from the center of enlargement of occipital bone. Wires are traced through them in the form of top-flatted suture. A tract is formed in a lateral direction through the second spinous process or the third cervical vertebra and the wires are put through it. Note that at the same time the second wire is put through the orifices in occipital bone, it is stretched below posterior arch of atlas from the both sides, griped in a loop mode, and thereafter both wires are stretched around the second spinous process and the third cervical vertebra, the ends of the wires are twisted together. Place of fixation of spinal bones is cemented with methylmethacrylate.
EFFECT: prevention of atlantoaxial dislocation of spine in the horizontal and vertical planes.
