FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: method incorporates heating of continuous cast stocks in a furnace, water descaling and multiple reducing in rough passes with draft roll opening according to system "diamond-square". Elimination of surface defects is achieved owing to supply of flat jets of water for water descaling under pressure of 20-30 atm on a facet of the stock (a rectangular band) after reducing in each rough pass with reduction coefficient 1.05-1.30; additionally after the first pass there is performed canting of bands at 90°, while upper at their position in the furnace sides of the band are subject to water descaling after reducing in each roughing stand. Further, the flat jets are inclined at 75-80° to the longitudinal axis of bands, and nozzles are arranged at the distance of 100-200 mm from the corresponding flat side of the band.
EFFECT: upgraded quality of surface of sectional bars out of steel continuous cast stocks.
