FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to production of klozo-borate clusters of triethylammonium dodecaborate [(C2H5)3NH]2B12H12, tribytylammonium decaborate [(C4H9)3NH]2B10H10, tribytylammonium hexaborate [(C4H9)3NH]2B6H6. They are resulted from reaction of sodium boron hydride NaBH4 and triethylamineborane (C2H5)3NBH3 at molar ratio NaBH4 to (C2H5)3NBH3 as 1:(2-4) within temperature range 180-220°C to produce mixture of sodium dodecaborate Na2B12H12, sodium decaborate Na2B10H10, sodium hexaborate Na2B6H6. Produced mixture is slowly cooled to room temperature in argon current, added with toluene and ice water, agitated to complete deposit dissolution, filtered with separation of aqueous and organic layers. Aqueous layer is neutralised with hydrochloric acid, added with triethylamine hydrochloride. Triethylammonium dodecaborate salted is deposited and filtrated. Thereafter aqueous layer is processed with tribytylamine hydrochloride. Precipitate hexaborate and decaborate salts are filtered and separated from water using fractional crystallisation.

EFFECT: production of high-yield klozo-borate clusters.
