FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to metallurgy of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, particularly to methods of modification of various grades of iron and steel and facilitates upgrading abrasive and corrosion resistance of these alloys operating in aggressive mediums with considerable amount of abrasive particles. According to the method a conditioning agent in form of powder is introduced under the jet of metal or directly into a mold during metal tapping; the conditioning agent contains 50-90 wt % of refractory ceramic particles of not more, than 0.1 mcm dimension plated with a substance-protector. The conditioning agent is introduced at amount of 0.005-0.1 wt % in terms of refractory ceramic particles; as a substance-protector chromium or nickel, or their mixture are used.
EFFECT: upgraded corrosion resistance of iron and steel by 2-3 times and their abrasive wear resistance by 1,4 times.
