FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the metallurgy of ferrous metals, particularly to ladle methods for modifying cast irons and steels with refractory ceramic particles. Method comprises introducing a modifier comprising refractory ceramic nanosized particles and a metal protector into a ladle or mould when casting a molten metal. Modifier is introduced into the molten metal in an amount of 0.01–0.2 wt%, based on the refractory ceramic nanosized particles obtained by the SHS method and are a mixture of titanium and tungsten carbides in a ratio, (%): WC : TiC=(40–80):(60–20), wherein the ratio protector metal: refractory ceramic nanosized particles in the modifier is, (%): (50–75):(50–25).
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to produce cast iron and steel with consistently high physical and mechanical characteristics and high corrosion resistance to aggressive media.
