FIELD: physics; test engineering.

SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to sheet stamping. A flat specimen in form of a narrow long strip with two openings at the edges is laid horizontally by openings with a gap on two pins of the stamping device, which is fixed on the test machine or press. In the stamping device, the specimen is pressed on two edges until failure through vertical movement between edges of the specimen of a die with a flat butt end and rounded corners, fixed in the movable testing machine head or on the slide of the press. Parameters of the pressed specimen are then determined. From the obtained parameters, suitability of the sheet material from which the specimen was cut is determined, so as to make objects with high accuracy on such sheet stamping operations, as bending, moulding and stretching. The smaller the angle of spring action and arching of the section of the specimen under the butt-end of the die for the given sheet material, the more the accuracy of the object, stamped from that material.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of testing.
