FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: optical coherent tomography is performed by contact method with scanning ray direction perpendicular to limb. Examination is performed in 12, 3, 6 and 9 hour directions at 1, 2, 3 and 4 mm from limb. During scanning at 1 mm distance from limb 1 mm of contact miniprobe surface is located over limb zone, while the rest is over sclera; during scanning at 2, 3 and 4 mm distance from limb central part of contact miniprobe surface matches scanning point. Gravity assessment of dull eye injury is performed by obtained tomograms. If tomogram features two or more of the following indications - hyporeflexion and signal damping at muscular layer level, swelling of muscular layer in ciliary body (CB), swelling of CB vascular layer, impossible differentiation of trabecualr apparatus and ciliary canal during visualisation of utmost anterior chamber corner (ACC), medium gravity of dull eye injury is diagnosed. Such tomogram indications as supraciliary space forming, disorder of CB muscular layer structure aligned with hyporeflecting loci of irregular shape, increased signal absorption by CB vascular layer, total absence of tomographic indicators of CB and ACC structures at the usual scanning zones, prohibited ACC visualisation, presence of tomographic ACC recession indicators combined with or without tomographic indicators of medium degree contusion, then severe eyeball contusion is diagnosed.

EFFECT: enhanced accuracy of biological structure examination, gravity assessment for dull eye injury in early post-injury period.
