SPIRAL PROPELLER OF SUBMERSIBLE VEHICLE Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC B63H1/14 B63G8/00

Abstract RU 2344964 C1

FIELD: transport; shipbuilding.

SUBSTANCE: spiral propeller of submersible vehicle has a hub comprising several rims loosely holding the submersible vehicle hull cylinder. Rigidly fixed to the rims are blades with helical surface circumscribed about the submersible vehicle hull cylinder up to several constant-pitch turns. The rims come into contact with at least three shafts laid outside along the submersible vehicle hull and located in equal attitude positions with respect to the longitudinal axis of the submersible vehicle hull cylinder and rotated by motors. The motors are installed circumferentially on the submersible vehicle hull cross-section and inside the pressure tight fairings.

EFFECT: improved propeller performance, increased operational reliability and noiseless operation.
