FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: engine consists of a pair of ratchet shafts being the engine rotor and located in parallel planes in common axis. Mechanism converting forward movement of pistons to rotational movement of shaft is enclosed in similar blocks of parts located in a circle. Each block includes two pairs of opposite cylinders. Between each two opposite cylinders there located is one shuttle with pistons located opposite on its ends. One stop (arresting device) and one piston rod, each of which is hinged to the end of the main lever, is hinged to central protrusion of the shuttle.

EFFECT: decreasing mechanical losses.
