SUBSTANCE: invention refers to production of sorption materials locating molecular radioiodine from aqueous solutions based on ion-exchange resins and aims at cleaning coolant in nuclear power plants (NPP), as well as process liquors in waste nuclear fuel reprocessing. Sorption material is prepared from ion-exchange resins. Resin is modified by copper ion exchange or copper and silver ion mixture. Metal content in sorption material is 3-10 wt %. Besides sorption material is processed with hydrazine hydrate solution.

EFFECT: low cost, thermal stability, high speed and reliability in locating molecular radioiodine from aqueous solutions.
