FIELD: mining engineering; mechanics.
SUBSTANCE: magnetic separator includes a housing and a magnetic system, which consists of disc permanent magnets. Magnets are mounted on a horizontal shaft. This separator is equipped with discharging chambers with pivoted doors and one more magnet system, which is similar to the first one and composed of n disc permanent magnets installed on horizontal shaft. These are equipped with casings separated one from another by distance equal to casing width. Both shafts are parallel and installed at the joint of housing and discharging chambers. Casings of two opposite magnet systems can rotate one towards another and in the direction opposite to that of the flow of material to be separated. Gap between them in the horizontal plane is equal to permanent magnet casing width as well.
EFFECT: improvement of throughput and efficiency of ferromagnetic metal particle separation.
