FIELD: weaponry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to ballistic-stability composite materials made up of two layers of fabric that feature unidirectional ballistic-stability fibers. The previously mentioned layers of ballistic-stability fibers are arranged at an angle of 90°±5° to each other. Note here that the said ballistically stable fibers are interfoliated into another fabric produced from fibers that feature notably lower ultimate tensile strength and Young's modulus as compared with the aforesaid ballistic-stability fibers, i.e. ultimate tensile strength of 15 g per one division and Young's modulus of at least 400 g per one division. Note that there is a layer of pitch arranged between every pair of such several layers adhered to the said ballistic-stability fibers but no encapsulating them nor penetrating into the fabric layers. The said pitch feature the Young's modulus equals at least 48260 kPa.
EFFECT: higher ballistic stability of composite material.
