SUBSTANCE: invention is related to the field of measurement technology. Method includes connection of electric glass-plastic thin-layer heaters (HEGT) to source of electric power supply, HEGT heating for time required to achieve standard mode of functioning at the temperature tmax, registration of working surface temperature field, detection of point location with highest temperature, definition of HEGT technical condition by comparison of surface maximum temperature to maximum permissible temperature. Registration of working surface temperature field T(ti,x,y) is done at different supply voltages from 0 to Umax, with interval ΔU, at that every measurement is done after time tmax after supply voltage has been established. Resistance of abnormal section in heating layer is defined, as well as coefficient of HEGT working surface heat exchange.

EFFECT: higher validity of HEGT control.
