FIELD: physics; optics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to laser technology and may be used in optical detection and ranging, range finding, optical atmosphere probing. Laser comprises an unstable telescopic optical resonator, which incorporates an exit mirror, cylinder-shaped active element, a pumping system for side output of pumping light to the active element and a modulator located inside the optical resonator. Nonfocusing optical homogenuously pumping system is used, which provides for actually uniform pumping intensity distribution along the active element cross-section. Solid-state single-pulse laser implemented according to the invention is used as optical oscillator of two-wave laser beam generator.
EFFECT: reduced nonuniformity of distribution of laser power density along the beam cross-section, increased power output, simplified pumping system design, reduced laser dimensions, low radiation divergence.
