LASER WITH LONGITUDINAL PUMPING Russian patent published in 2017 - IPC H01S3/06

Abstract RU 2623688 C1

FIELD: physics.

SUBSTANCE: laser with longitudinal pumping contains a source of pumping radiation, an active element mounted inside the resonator, which includes a dull and semitransparent mirror. The active element is made in the form of a rod, at least, one of its ends is beveled so that the angle between the normal to the end and the longitudinal axis of the rod exceeds the angle of the total internal reflection. The lateral surface of the rod, opposite to the beveled end, is made in the form of a window that is transparent to laser radiation. The pumping source is installed at the beveled end of the active element in such a way that the pumping radiation penetrates into the active element. One of the resonator mirrors is mounted opposite the window in the active element on the continuation of the resonator optical axis. Between the pumping source and the beveled end of the active element, an optical wedge is introduced, the vertex of which is facing the acute angle between the end and the side surface of the active element. The wedge base is made reflective, and the gaps between the pumping source, the optical wedge and the active element are minimally possible.

EFFECT: increasing the pump efficiency, increasing the energy of the output laser radiation and increasing the reliability of the laser.
