FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to electrical engineering and electrical power engineering and can be used in designing turbo-electric installations, designed for generating electrical or mechanical energy, for instance, in steam generating, gas turbine electric power stations and compressor units. The turbo-electric installation comprises a magneto-electric machine mechanically linked to a turbine, the rotor of which, together with the turbine, is fitted on one horizontal shaft, fixed on radial and axial bearings. According to the invention, the stator of the electrical machine is fixed into the housing of the structure with radial displacement from the axis of rotation of the rotor to the side where the weight of the installation is acting on, as well as with axial displacement from the geometrical axis of symmetry of the rotor, perpendicular to its axis of rotation. The direction of linear axial displacement is opposite the direction of action of axial load, arising from turbine rotation.
EFFECT: increased reliability of operation and increased endurance of the turbo-electrical installation through simplification of its structure with reduction of the load on bearings of the unit at the same time.
