FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to thermo-chemical treatment, particularly to methods of application of coating on heat resistant alloys on nickel base and it can be implemented for protection of items from saline corrosion. The method consists in successive diffusive saturation of alloy with cobalt and aluminium in a circulating medium containing halogenides. Diffusive saturation is performed at temperature >900°C, but not above temperature of hardening alloy on nickel base. Also saturation with cobalt is carried out in a medium containing components at the following ratio, wt %: ammonium halogenide - 0.2-15, cobalt source - 85-99.8. As ammonium halogenide there is used iodide ammonium, or chloride ammonium, or bromide ammonium or fluoric ammonium or their mixture.

EFFECT: upgraded quality and service life of coating.
