FIELD: measurements.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method relates to unloading equipment and can be used for remote diagnostics (estimation) of weight of oil product residues (including boiler oil) on the end face parts and on internal walls of tank cars in their unloading in winter. The proposed method consists in the following, i.e. first, tank car jet gun nozzles are used to excite sound vibrations inside the car, then, mean square sound pressurepi in the tank car containing the residue of boiler oil is measured in a narrow-band ranged. Now, air volumeVj is calculated by the formula whereSi (ω),ωi, βi are spatial functions describing distribution of sound pressure allowing for positions of a sound source and receiver, intrinsic frequencies and factors of attenuation for "i" intrinsic vibrations in volume, respectively. A is a certain constant.
EFFECT: accuracy of diagnostics.
