FIELD: measuring frequency response of sound-transmission rate of sound-protection walls and jackets. SUBSTANCE: method involves use of mass law and detection of sound-transmission rate taking into account angular frequency sound wave approaching plate, density and mechanical losses of plate material, its height and linear size as well as its natural frequency. Method provides two different equations for calculation of said rate for different frequencies which are below threshold frequency $$$ and above frequency $$$ which is greater than $$$. It is assumed that sound-transmission rate for frequencies which are in range of $$$ is equal to zero. EFFECT: elimination of abnormal large deviation between experimental and calculated values of sound-transmission rate. 2 dwg
