FIELD: measuring equipment.
SUBSTANCE: method relates to measurement equipment and can be used to measure volume of solid sediments, mainly oil-containing sludge in reservoir, accumulated during operation. Method consists in measuring the volume of a solid residue by measuring the volume of liquid in a reservoir with a standard level gauge, and the volume of liquid completely pumped out during operation from the reservoir by means of a flow meter and determining the volume of sediment in the reservoir as per the difference in the measured volumes.
EFFECT: volume of solid residue in reservoirs of any volume without stopping operation, use of measuring liquid and without power inputs for its pumping and pumping.
