FIELD: physics, measurements.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the method designed to define packed product storage life and to the device to this effect. The method consists in the following, i.e. closed package filled with the product is placed into an excess pressure chamber to be stored therein during preset period at preset temperature in atmosphere of test gas so as to allow the said gas to penetrate into the package. Then the package is stored for preset time exposed to heat and/or light. Now the packed product is subjected to analytic and/or organoleptic estimation. The device comprises excess pressure chamber with closing hole to accommodate, at least, one package, test gas inlet and outlet and the device to provide for excess pressure.
EFFECT: shortened test time, accelerated penetration of test gas into package.
