FIELD: measurement; testing.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to process control and concerns a method for non-invasive measurement of the gas content in transparent packages. Method comprises placing a sensor material in the package, packaging the materials to be packaged in the package, gas-tight sealing of the package by introducing a modified atmosphere of the gas to be measured. Package is applied to a conveyor and sorting device, the sensor material is excited by excitation light source, intensity of fluorescent or luminescent light emitted from the sensor material when conveying the package to the sorting device is detected contactlessly and measured values are converted in the evaluation unit. Pressure is further applied to the package and the measurement process is repeated. Depending on the gas content calculated by the evaluation unit, the packaging is sent for further processing or disposal.

EFFECT: technical result is the increased speed and efficiency of measurements.
