FIELD: medical equipment; surgical armaments.
SUBSTANCE: sternotome contains the case, output shaft actuator, support arm with extended stop block for tissue abduction and removable cutting tooth blade fixed on the output shaft. The drive is installed within the tubular handle provided on the axis of the tubular case. The output shaft is equipped on lateral surface of the tubular case. The support arm is designed as a knife for wedge tissue abduction and connected to the tubular case herewith movable within plane of cutting tooth blade or within plane in parallel to that of cutting tooth blade. The cutting blade is floating movable and designed as disk segment with symmetry axis directed towards the longitudinal axis of the handle and the case at the angle 58° to 62°. The extended stop block for tissue abduction is provided with end segment as tunneller or raspatory, and a surface from cutting tooth blade designed to adjoin breastbone posterior surface.
EFFECT: improved contact to tissues of sternotome cutting blades, reduced injury rate, simplified design, easy-to-use and reduced operation time.
