FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention is related to transmission that comprises internal combustion engine; turbine that operates on spent gas and is located in flow of spent gas of internal combustion engine; crankshaft that is actuated by internal combustion engine; crankshaft may be connected via hydrodynamic coupling to turbine that operates on spent gas by means of connecting rod; hydrodynamic coupling has primary wheel and secondary wheel, which form working cavity together, which may be filled with working fluid for transmission of torque; primary wheel is connected by connecting rod to turbine that operates on spent gas, secondary wheel is connected by connecting rod to crankshaft; in process of rotary motion primary wheel may be mechanically arrested and blocked, so that hydrodynamic coupling performs function of hydrodynamic retarder. Method for control of transmission is considered.
EFFECT: emptying of hydrodynamic coupling working cavity to previously specified extent prior to and/or in case of primary wheel braking.
