FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: automatic control method of torque moment transfer of transmission (5, 7, 8) with hydrodynamic coupling (6) located between power turbine (4) and crankshaft (3) of turbo-compound engine (1) involves the stages, at which continuous recording of the value of one or several of the following parameters is performed: a) internal combustion engine load, and (or) b) internal combustion engine temperature, and (or) c) parameters representing noise, vibration, and irregular running of the above transmission. If one or several parameters (a)-(c) exceed the specified value of each of those parameters in one direction, deceleration of the side of power turbine of hydrodynamic coupling (6) and continuous control of the ability of hydrodynamic coupling (6) to transfer torque moment depending in the change of one or several of the above parameters (a)-(c) is performed. Storage medium, such as computer memory, containing a machine-readable programme code for the method's implementation is presented.
EFFECT: reduction of noise, reduction of exhaust gas emission from the engine and acceleration of the engine warm-up at cold start-up.
