FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, particularly ultrasound diagnostics, and can be applied in operation of child health centres and orthopedic departments of child hospitals for skeleton maturity degree assessment. Ultrasonic examination of infant's hand and hip joints is performed. If at 1-3 month age ossification centres of two carpal bones (capitated and hamulate ones), as well as ossification centres of tibia heads, are visualised, then early cartilage tissue ossification is diagnosed. In ossification centres of indicated bones are visualised at 3-5 month age, then normal terms of skeleton ossification are diagnosed. In the absence of one or more indicated ossification centre visualisation at the age older than 5 months, ossification impairment is diagnosed.
EFFECT: high accuracy and specificity of skeleton ossification degree assessment in most active period of infant's growth.
