SUBSTANCE: method includes periodic supply of solidifying foam of various stabilities into working space. At a mining face there is used solidifying foam of a lesser stability τ₁ comparing to the stability τ₂ of foam strips at a ventilation drift; also τ₁ and τ₂ are determined from mathematic expression f₁= 2F/V- stability of foam strips at the mining face; f₂=20F/V - stability of foam strips at the ventilation drift, where F is length of collapse zone of the main roof, m, V is rate of face advance, m/twenty-four hours.

EFFECT: increased protective characteristics of worked out space.
