SUBSTANCE: method and device to control starter - generator is proposed by the invention. Both method and device are based on the synchronous machine operation using electromagnetic excitation. The claimed method and device ensure machine operation both in starter and generator modes with minimum copper losses and minimize additional (switching) losses in the machine and power converter.

EFFECT: simple design of device, improved reliability and reduced cost while preserving all functional properties and advantages.
