SUBSTANCE: invention relates to control systems of starter-generator plants of vehicles powered by internal combustion engines. According to invention, at operation of control system of starter-generator made of base of synchronous machine phase currents are measured and results are converted into rotating orthogonal system of coordinates whose one axis is directed along longitudinal axis of machine. Then actual values of currents are compared with preset values which are formed with due account of signal from accelerator pedal pressed-on sensor. Basing of results of comparing instantaneous signs of phase voltage are determined.
EFFECT: minimization of additional (switching) losses in machine and power converter.
