FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: direct current arc furnace contains basis with located in it load-bearing side platelined casing of arc tank with hearth-level electrode, mounted on it, arc tank tilt mechanism and clamping mechanism of hearth-level electrode contact, located on the basis, lined arch, arc electrode with mechanism of its movement. At that it is outfitted by annular gantry, its hoisting mechanism, displaced from the furnace axis for center of mass balancing, and gas-suction cowl, at that arc electrode movement mechanism and gas-suction cowl are installed annular gantry which is implemented with ability of its lifting together with arch.

EFFECT: security level rise of equipment, working environment improvement by means of reduction of emission from nondefined place into the department atmosphere, reliability growth and improvement of maintainability of equipment by means of ejection of electrode movement mechanism from the area of thermal furnace roof action.
