FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: diesel exhaust leaf has a segment of the rigid porous wall made of acicular structure ceramics, such as acicular structure mullite. Present porous wall segment is provided with the first and the second sides and coated with precious metal catalyst and absorbent NOx. So as diesel exhaust containing excess oxygen, NOx and solid particles, runs through the rigid porous wall from the first to the second side, exhaust solid particles are retained in the rigid porous wall and catalytically oxidised to carbon dioxide, NO is catalytically oxidised to NO2 then absorbed with NOx. Once exhaust contains excess hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide, absorbent NOx is recycled. Remained hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide is catalytically transformed to nitrogen and carbon dioxide. Besides, method of precipitable metal ion sedimentation on such rigid porous wall surfaces is disclosed.
EFFECT: higher efficiency.
