FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method includes sulphuric acid vapour condensation from gas mixture containing 0.01 to 10% vol. sulphuric acid vapour considering total hydration full of gaseous sulphur in sulphuric acid, and 0 to 50% vol. water vapour, cooled in sulphuric acid tower. Ammonia containing flow is delivered at the inlet of sulphuric acid tower into gas mixture containing sulphuric acid in amount corresponding to 0.01-100 ammonia parts per million in gas flow volume. Gas mixture is cooled in circulating sulphuric acid backflow in vertical pipe cooled outside wherein gas mixture runs from the pipe bottom upwards in external coolant backflow.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of sulphuric acid recovery from gas mixture.
