FIELD: physics, optics.

SUBSTANCE: proposed luminescent optical source with a crested spectrum is meant for use in photonics as a compact optical source with a crested spectrum in the wavelength range of 1500-1600 nm to create the effect of spectral compaction in fibre-optical communication systems. Luminescent source of an optical source with a crested spectrum comprises a pump source placed on one optical axis, optical amplifier in the form of a solid active element, placed inside a Fabry-Perot resonator. The active element is a parallel-plane luminescent lamel, made from laser glass, where the optical axis of the pump source is perpendicular to the plane of the Fabry-Perot resonator. Mirrors of the Fabry-Perot resonator can be placed directly on the plane of the parallel-plane luminescent lamel. Highly concentrated phosphate laser glass is used as the active laser substance, activated with ytterbium and erbium.

EFFECT: obtaining radiation with a crested spectrum, super-luminescence.
