SUBSTANCE: present invention pertains to farm-machinery industry and can be used in corn harvesters. The snapping unit has extending rolling mills, snapping plates and hurling chains. The device has a pair of discs spaced by a distance equal to the average diameter of the corncob. The discs are fitted in the area where stalks pass with provision for perpendicular rotation.
EFFECT: snapping unit increases the quality of separating corncobs from stalks and improves degree of cleaning the cobs.
