FIELD: agriculture.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to agricultural machinery. The snapping unit has a drum installed in the vertical plane, which consists of a pair of rotating discs. On the periphery the discs have outer rings to facilitate the entry of stems. On the inner side of the discs a few pairs of snapping plates are installed in the form of a polygon with adjustable gap between them. The front ends of plates of each pair are mounted on the edges of the discs. The rear ends of the plates are shifted toward the centers of disks to form the gap for moving the cobs off the each pair of plates.
EFFECT: snapping unit provides harvesting of corn in cobs without cleaning them with minimal loss.
