METHOD OF FORECASTING OF RELAPSE OF SURGICAL TREATMENT OF POSTTRAUMATIC STRICTURES OF URETHRA Russian patent published in 2009 - IPC A61B10/00 G01N33/48 

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention concerns medicine, namely urology, and can be used for forecasting of early relapse of posttraumatic stricture of urethra after surgical treatment. Plane circular site of urethra is exsected intraoperatively after stricture resection, thickness of 2-3 mm in a zone of the spongiform urethra prepared to be anastomosed. The following histomorphologic indicators are evaluated: epithelial lining, epithelium in paraurethral glands, quantity of paraurethral glands, quantity of sine in sight, hardening of walls of vessels, presence of chronic inflammation with exacerbation. At revealing of histomorphologic changes such as: ulcerations of epithelial lining to basal membrane, epithelium atrophy in paraurethral glands, absence of paraurethral glands, absence of sine in sight, stenosing sclerosis of walls of vessels with arteriolohyalinosis, chronic inflammation with an exacerbation, in not less than in four indicators, high risk of development of early relapse of stricture of urethra is prognosticated.

EFFECT: method allows spending in the early postoperative period complex estimation of histomorphologic risk factors in quantitative and qualitative equivalent, considering individual clinical importance of each risk factor.
