FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely to otorhinolaryngology and to be applied in surgical ossicular repair in tympanoplasty. Substance of the method involves application of an autogenoius bone, namely suprameatal spine, for prosthesis. Suprameatal spine is cleaned from soft tissues to be excised at the bottom with a drill and sharpened for a shaped and sised columella to be established between a hammer handle and under-pedicle strirrup membrane. Natural concavity of suprameatal spine is to be observed with eliminating a contact to promontory wall of tympanic cavity.
EFFECT: application of the present invention enables to reduce probability of fused suprameatal spine being used as a prosthesis to surrounding tissues that in turn prevents ossicular ankylosis.
