FIELD: weapons and ammunition.

SUBSTANCE: present invention is meant for measuring thickness of frost deposit on the aerodynamic surface of an aircraft. The probe has several measuring cascades (from E1 to En), which are arranged successively and lie orthogonal to the base of the probe. Each measuring cascade contains at least, one emitter, which can emit a light beam which is at least parallel to the said base, and, at least, one receiver, which can receive the light beam after reflection from the frost deposit.

EFFECT: wider functional capabilities and increased accuracy of measuring a significant thickness of frost deposit.
