FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method for excitation of longitudinal electromagnet wave in vacuum includes process of electric energy transformation into radiation of electromagnet longitudinal wave. Excitation of longitudinal electromagnet wave is done by means of longitudinal concentration of power lines of electric or magnet fields of antenna near-field region in direction of wave vector and formation of longitudinal wave front in space in the form of field heterogeneity in transitional area between near-field region and wave zone of radiation due to delay of electric or magnet fields in far-field region relative to electron oscillations on radiating element of antenna. Radiating element of antenna is arranged as sharpened and provides for concentration of power lines of electric or magnet fields of near-field region near element in the form of spike, therefore, radiating and radiated longitudinal electromagnet fields have identical nature and symmetry. Antenna may include several radiating elements that create phased array forming narrower beam of longitudinal wave.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of feeding electric energy transformation into radiation energy.
