FIELD: electricity.

SUBSTANCE: commercial AC voltage, applied to output terminal (90) from a commercial source, which is external relative the vehicle, is stepped up by a transformer (86) to a level exceeding voltage (VB) across device (B) for storing electrical energy, applied across neutral points (N1, N2). During charging mode of the device (B) for storing electrical energy from the commercial source, all n-p-n transistors of inverters (20, 30) switch off. AC voltage applied across neutral points (N1, N2) is rectified by an anti-parallel diode of inverter (20, 30) for feeding into the supply line (PL2). An up-converter (10) controls charging current from supply line (PL2) to device (B) for storing electrical energy.
