FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves processing the powder ultrahigh-molecular polyethylene of molecular weight (4.5-10.5)×106 daltons and particle sizes 5-250 microns in supercritical carbon dioxide at temperature 40-140°C and pressure 15-25 MPa within 2-4 hours. Then metal organosols sized 100-550 nm chosen from gold group or mixed gold and silver are introduced in powder ultrahigh-molecular polyethylene by mixing in amount 0.15-0.5 wt %. Then prepared mixture is heat-treated at temperature 60-80°C in vacuum medium within 3-5 hours followed by moulding a polymeric component at temperature 190-200°C and specific pressure 10-60 MPa.
EFFECT: ensured high purity of mould composition, great tribooxidation stability of a polymeric sample by surface layer tribooxidation and lower friction temperature, lower friction coefficient and reduced relative wear ratio of a polymeric sample and an interfaced component in sliding friction of a polymeric sample on a counterbody made of biologically inert alloy.
