FIELD: physics; measurement.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to measuring techniques. The method involves illumination of a sample of analysed medium. Pulses of exciting light have the same amplitude and variable duration. Fluorescence characteristics of chlorophyll are measured at constant background illumination, imitating intensity of illumination of the object when testing in natural conditions, and after adapting it in darkness. The device comprises a measuring chamber, an even number of sources of measuring light, optically connected to the measuring chamber, a module for measuring fluorescence of the sample, control unit, current stabiliser of light sources and a natural illumination sensor. The measuring chamber has a case, fluorescence register and an even number of light sources, which are paired and lie diametrically opposite each other in the same plane, perpendicular to the axis of the case.

EFFECT: more accurate determination of parametres.
