FIELD: personal use articles.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cutting devices and can be used to slice fruits and vegetables. The insert consists of base plate, first and second fasteners. One side of the base plate is made in the shape of support surface, which, being inserted with this side up directs movement of the material being sliced that moves lengthwise relative to cutting edge of the slicer's knife. The first fasteners are used to fix the insert on the slicer housing with the first side up. The second fasteners are used to fix the insert on the slicer housing with the other side up. The fasteners are set so that to cover the cutting edge of the knife, when the insert is placed with the second side up.
EFFECT: decrease of wound hazard.
